POSITION: Legal Assistant

DESCRIPTION: Managing a specialized caseload focused on trial cases with the Office of Administrative Law Judges. As a legal assistant with our Longshore department you will be in frequent contact with clients, as well as with the Court, opposing counsel, and expert witnesses. You will work very closely with the case/trial attorney to assist in moving our cases forward to conclusion. You will prepare, review and serve various pleadings and draft correspondence daily. You will be responsible for tracking and meeting all deadlines, both in house and as ordered by the Court. You will be required to attend local trials with the attorney to provide any needed assistance in the courtroom. You will be responsible for ensuring case information in data is current and correct. This position will also aid in appellate work with the possibility of working on cases that go to the 9th circuit Court of Appeals. Paralegal Certificate required.
